The place remains unchanged and consistent despite Matunga’s changing landscape. Whilst some may complain about the cramped space , the waiters who are as crisp and too the point and not particularly warm, the food is outstanding. The menu is limited but every item there is superb. The owners are very sweet and always take an effort to help you.

Kyani & Co.

Conversations over coffee at hip caffeine chains may be the new culture now, but much before they came into existence, an Irani café was a place where people met for conversations over chai. Known for their fluffy omlettes and mawa cakes, the erstwhile Irani cafés—furnished with bentwood chairs and marble table tops—defined an era of low-priced eateries in the financial capital of the country.

Here, freshly baked bagels are sold plain, or come slathered with cream cheese and salmon, peanut butter or Nutella. Add in free Wi-Fi and great coffee, and you’ll know why Bagel Shop – Bread for your Head is the best thing since, well, sliced bread.
